Preliminary Task-Planning

In this post are the plans I created for my preliminary task, before making my magazine cover and contents page I had to plan out how I wanted it to be constructed. I took into consideration the target audience I wanted to attract who were young people aged 16-18 years attending St Marks sixth form. Before taking my pictures I had to draw a mock up plan of how I wanted the publication to look like, this enabled me to find it easier when doing the task on photoshop as I already knew how I wanted it to be like.

In the task I had to make sure the following were included:

• a photo of a student in medium close up
• masthead
• front cover of the magazine
• contents page
• appropriately layed out text

I made sure my colours used on both pages were consistent showing that my magazine cover and also contents page had a professional approach which would catch the reader's attention; I made sure I planned carefully as it would make me more organised when working on the task.
